New Israeli Olim Family Gets A Surprise Welcome From The MOTI

At K’Cholmim, we heard a report this week of disturbing problems that a specific young family of new Olim are having with the Ministry of the Interior. We would like to share this news with you to inform you of what is happening with them. This family would like to remain anonymous at this time as they may be victimized in a serious bureaucratic legal situation.

For editorial purposes, we will call this family the “Olim” family.

The Olim family is a Jewish family of 5. They are originally from the United States. They have always had a love for Israel. About two years ago, they made the decision and commitment to make Aliyah to Israel. The Olim family worked hard to save up what they could. They made their preparations for their Aliyah. At the beginning of this year, they set their Aliyah date for this summer. They worked closely with their Shliach and the Jewish Agency filling out all their forms and answering all their questions. They were so excited when they got their passports back from the Jewish Consulate with their Aliyah visa stamps in them!
